Why pure new wool?
Sheep's wool is the most natural and best insulating material that you can imagine. None of the synthetic insulating materials developed in recent years applying sophisticated methods of production has been able to surpass this natural product that has itself proven for hundreds of years.
Wool is ecological
- As regrowing raw material, it is 100% biodegradable
- Very low primary energy consumption required for production
- Washed with soap and soda, rinsed with clear water
- Sheep wool is carbon neutral
Wool is functional
- Has an equalising effect on the climate in residential rooms
(Absorption of moisture produces warmth. This is one of the most important characteristics of wool and retards the cooling down process considerably. In warmer times wool releases moisture thus having a cooling effect. This is why sheep's wool is also called "natural air-conditioner") - Exceptional long-term elasticity and stability
- Easy and quick to lay (no fine dust pollution, therefore no safety equipment necessary)
- Low flammability (Fire resistance class E = B1)
(Self ignition point around 560°C, wood around ca. 270°C)
Wool is healthy
- Neutralizes indoor air pollutants such as formaldehyde and ozone (Source: GEO, Nr. 6, 98)
- Healthy room climate through excellent equalizing effect on air moisture
(Only sheep's wool can absorb moisture upt to 33% of its own weight and return it to the environment as needed)
